Department of Forensic Medicine & Toxicology is a continuously emerging branch dealing with Medico-Legal Cases at ABVIMS & RML Hospital, New Delhi, established in year 2011 with autopsies being conducted from year 2017. It includes services like Medico-legal Autopsies, expert opinions, bone examination, injury & weapon examination, sexual assault accused examination and age estimation. Teaching & academic sessions for undergraduate and paramedic students is an essential part of curriculum. It is a center of excellence dedicated to the intersection of medicine and law. Our team of highly qualified forensic medical experts works diligently to provide accurate, reliable, and timely forensic services to support legal and investigative agencies.

The department is working in New Delhi district of the capital of India and caters to the VIP Lutyens’ zone. It was the nodal center for autopsy and medico-legal services during the COVID pandemic duration. The department is also involved in assisting the clinical autopsies and takes pride in dealing the Dead with Dignity.

The department is also involved actively in providing training to the para-medical students, trauma technicians, police officers and law enforcement officers at State and National level.
